The evening before the foundation was poured, the girls along with Jeremy and myself placed a bible in the footing located at the entry of the home. It was an awesome opportunity to teach the girls about the foundation on which we build our lives. The following is what we wrote in the inside cover;
Dear Lord,
As we lay this bible in the foundation of this house, we are making a symbolic statement of our faith and who we are, as a family in you.
We invite you to reside in this home. We ask the Holy Spirit to permeate this dwelling place. We pray that everything and everyone who enters this place will be blessed. We come against anything that is not of you and is contrary to your word.
Lord you are our foundation, you are our strength. We build our home and we build our lives upon you. When the winds and the rain come, may we stand firm on the very foundation on which we are built. may we not be shaken. May our eyes and focus stay upon you forever, keeping in mind your eternal purposes and plans.
